What the reader should capture
Photograph the complete front label with the large overall grade and the smaller certification number beneath it both visible. That relative position helps distinguish the certification from other numbers.
What not to use
- The large overall grade, such as 8.5 or 9.5
- Centering, corners, edges, or surface subgrades
- The card’s checklist number
- A year printed in the card description
How to improve recognition
Hold the slab square to the camera, fill the frame with the label, and shift the light until the metallic surface is readable. A close label photo should be captured before the full card back.
